Growing in Strength and Wisdom
Thankfully, we’re in a time now where it’s becoming more widely accepted that the real seat of wisdom, strength and healing is the heart. There’s still a lot of work to do for many people to be at peace in their hearts and to open up to, and channel, that strength and wisdom. But the access to tools, support and others on the journey has greatly expanded.
Processing emotions of grief, betrayal and anger are surefire ways to grow the capacity of the heart to love. And with a wide, open heart — beyond ecstasy and bliss (and who doesn’t want more of that?) — miracles and tremendous growth are possible. As someone who’s experienced a GREAT DEAL of grief, betrayal and anger, I can vouch for the empowerment and expansiveness that comes from processing those emotions.
So if your heart feels closed and constricted, be gentle with yourself, as there are likely reasons and events that made that feel necessary at some point. Yet, take stock and see what can be processed and released. Letting go of what no longer serves you — be it emotions, beliefs, relationships, situations and circumstances of all kinds — allows space for what is truly nurturing and sustaining to grow or come in. Acknowledging whatever happened and how it made you feel (whether through writing, prayer, telling another person) and releasing it (remember the psyche likes symbols so using visualization or actions of burning, tearing, flushing or throwing out work well) are great steps for creating space and healing the heart.
As mentioned in other posts, I also have benefited from using crystals. Some favorites are: jade, rhodonite, rhodochrosite, rose quartz, malachite, unakite, lepidolite and ocean jasper (all jasper — love it!). I also like Kundalini sets (like Heart of Gold) and other breath and energy work for healing and expanding the heart. Representations of Kuan Yin and the weeping Buddha serve as reminders of compassion for myself and others.
While for me there’s definitely a time and place for the Blues, when creating a ritual experience or process for doing release work, I like simple music, nature sounds or healing frequencies that are grounding and uplifting at the same time. Something slow (Jai Radha Madhav by Deval Premal) or fast (Desert Floater by Steve Dekrons — great drums!) or discovering new hand pan or other drum performances.
Wishing you healing and enjoyment as you discover and personalize your own processes. With an open and expanded heart, not only is life much more pleasurable, but you deepen and expand your access to wisdom and truth. You can relax into the seat of your true Self, beyond the antics of the ego. That peace is within everyone, and getting beyond anything that may be blocking you from it is well worth the effort. I encourage you to grab some support, experiment with some tools, and make clearing and opening your heart a priority in order to dramatically elevate the peace, joy, love, wisdom and empowerment in your life!
